Playstation 3 Lacks Rumble Feature in Game Controllers
June 15, 2006 – 8:15 amIf you’re plannning on buying the Playstation 3 when it hits the shelves this holiday season, you might feel like you’re missing out on something. That “something” would be game controllers that vibrate.
The reason for this, according to Sony, is the vibrations interfered with motion sensors that are installed on every game controller. Others believe it has to do with a patent infringement case with Immersion technologies.

Sony will offer two different versions of the PS3. A standard model that retails for $499.00 and $599.00 for a premium model that offers Wi-Fi connectivity, more storage capacity and a few other features.
Sony will have stiff competition with Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s XBox 360 because of pricing
(Wii is expected to retail for around $250.00, and a Premium XBox 360 retails at $399.00) and
both offer vibrating controllers that avid gamers have come to expect. Sony taking this “feeling ” away from consumers along with a significantly higher price tag could affect their overall sales of this product.
