There are at least two reasons I can think of that make the Roomba Robotic Sweeper a must have.

1. It sweeps the floor, so you don’t have to.
2. It would scare the bejesus out of a spoiled housecat.

The Roomba has a 31 cubic inch dustbin to sweep up finer dirt and sensors protect it from falling down staircases and other drop offs, so Roomba is safe to roam even on the third floor. Two scheduling walls are included to create an infrared beam that confines the floor vac to one room and lets you schedule to clean at preset times of your choosing. That means you can set your Roomba to get started anytime that you want! It even has integrated technology to sense spots that are heavily soiled and focuses on them.

A fully charged battery lasts for 2 hours, and the unit will automatically turn itself off if it’s picked up. It takes 2 1/2 hours to charge and is recommended for low pile and hard wood floors.
The remote takes 2 AA batteries (not included.)

Prices on the Roomba vary by model number and are available at Hammacher

  2. I have three of the most spoiled cats in the world (bottle fed babies) and they love it! Roomba kept leaving his dock in the middle of the night (so we thought) until we saw the male walk over to it, push the button, step back and watch roomba leave his dock! The females, defy him to bump them and try to make them move! It’s a hoot even if it didn’t vacuum!
