Today GM announced that they are dropping the price of their Factory Installed XM radio receivers in their 2007 model year autos. XM radio is either a standard or an option in most of their cars.
The new price is $199.00, a near 40% savings from the original price of $329.00.
“The economies of scale and engineering efficiencies brought by the rapid pace of XM Radio installations across GM’s product lineup allow us to pass along cost savings to our customers,” said Mark LaNeve, vice president of GMNA Sales, Service and Marketing. “XM Radio has become a must-have feature for many customers and demand just continues to grow. Chevrolet alone has produced over two million XM-equipped vehicles.”
XM is the exclusive satellite provider for GM automobiles, including Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Hummer, Saturn, and Pontiac.
The $199.00 price doesn’t include a required subscription service to access the satellite radio services.
