The sky kite, an inflatable raft/flying disc that attaches to the back of a boat and takes “flight” after the boat reaches a certain speed, is now illegal in 3 states.

Flying through the air isn’t always with the greatest of ease.

This raft can cause serious injury or even death by inexperienced riders. Dangers included falling off the raft while airborne, unexpected gust winds causing it to spin out of control, and sudden stops by the boat could cause the kits to crash nose first into the water or worse yet, into the boat.
