Bill Gates Says Hyped Up Connected World Has Arrived

Bill Gates says the much-vaunted world he envisioned with mobile yet connected users is here right now. It’s hard to argue, as more and more people use tiny computers to access the internet from locations all over the world.
He also said Microsoft would offer an Xbox 360 game console that doubles as a set-top box for its fledgling Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) service, which delivers high-quality video over Internet networks.
Windows Vista is scheduled to be released next month, and this O/S has the power to really fuel the next generation of mobile devices, according to Gates, who was in Las Vegas to kick off the huge Consumer Electronics Show.
The set top box may be offered by AT&T later in 2007.
