There’s big profits in small items as Eleksen has found out. The company has been riding high, selling accessories behind the Ipod revolution. They say consumers are hooked on their products.

“Historically, people bought devices because of the functionality it provided them, now it has a lot more to do with ‘wow’ and ‘cool’,” Shephard told Reuters by phone on Wednesday.

Eleksen’s products, that can be integrated into ski wear, T-shirts, hoodies and suits, provide more than just an image polish.

“It is also the combination of security and convenience, because there is a lot of theft with regards to iPods,” he said, adding that being able to adjust volume and change tracks remotely without getting the gadget out benefits security

The company cannot keep up with demand for their messenger bag, that is equipped with loudspeakers, which sells for $60. Everyone wants the product and it sells out as soon as they make it. The market isn’t showing any signs of cooling off just yet.
