I’m sort of surprised that Amazon waited this long, but they recently announced the addition of the public beta of Amazon MP3 service, which allows consumers to choose from 2 million songs by more than 180,000 artists from over 20,000 major and independent labels.

These music downloads are DRM free, so you can download and listen to them on your computer, your cell phone and your MP3 player.

Individual songs cost .89 cents or you can pay $5.99-$9.99 to download an entire album.
