Halo 3 Is Selling Like Hotcakes

As predicted, Halo 3 is selling at a rapid pace. 3.3 million copies of the game have already been sold.
The success of Halo 3, which is exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox 360, appears to have driven sales of that console. According to NPD, Microsoft sold 528,000 360s, compared to 500,001 Nintendo Wiis and 119,000 PlayStation 3s.
While that’s got to make Microsoft feel good, particularly given the technical problems endured by thousands of 360 consoles, it did not trump the Wii by much. Nintendo, despite not having a single game to rival the popularity of Halo 3, didn’t lag far behind Microsoft’s console sales.
Halo 3 might save the day yet for Microsoft.
