“We are committed to ensuring our 60,000 songwriter and composer members receive a fair deal,” the PRS said in a statement following the meeting, “and that UK consumers continue to enjoy music videos on YouTube.”

Google has said that the PRS simply wants too much money for use of their videos.

Google removed a great number of videos that were uploaded by members when the licensing fees couldn’t be agreed to.

“PRS is now asking us to pay many, many times more for our licence than before,” YouTube wrote. “The costs are simply prohibitive for us.”
