Memorex is now shipping HD DVD disks

Memorex has long had a great reputation for recording media. Now they’re entering the world of high definition recording with their release of HD DVD disks. Naturally, Memorex is pretty excited about the new product:

“Memorex has always been proud to bring the full spectrum of optical recording formats to consumers,” said Ron Zinke, president, Consumer Division, for Imation Corp. “The availability of Memorex HD DVD media gives consumers a choice in recordable formats as they enter this new, high-definition world.”
HD DVD disks have some impressive features:
- Memorex HD DVD-R discs can record up to 15 GB of digital content
- Up to 75 minutes of HD-quality videoM
- Or about 7 hours of standard DVD-quality video
- Enhanced 7.1 channel surround sound
- Brilliant widescreen aspect ratio
- High resolution 1080i picture
- Content-rich interactive features.
These disks are slated to appear in retail in Q4 at a retail cost of $19.99 per disk. (For individually rapped disks)
