Microsoft Extends Xbox 360 Warranty To Remain Competitive

Microsoft has some legitimate concerns about how competive their XBox 360 is with other consoles. In an effort to increase the unit’s competitiveness, they’ve extended the warranty to one year from their previous 90 days.

The move matches the one-year warranty that Sony Corp. and Nintendo Co. already offer on their latest video game consoles, the PlayStation 3 and the Wii.

Nintendo has had runaway success with the Wii, while Microsoft has struggled moving units of the XBox 360. Matching warranties might help stem the tide.
